Why isolate your batteries?
A dual battery system is needed when powering accessories, such as an inverter, fridge or camp lighting while the vehicle’s engine is turned off. An isolated auxiliary battery that is independent of the starting battery allows you power these accessories without the risk of running your starting battery flat. The auxiliary battery can be a different size and type to the main battery.
